Everyone on the planet could do many wonderful, loving, and beautiful things in this world.
But to do good or wonderful things, you first have to be able to trust your self, and to rely on your self. You do this by being honest with your self. You are honest with yourself when you do what you say you are going to do, without pretending or lying. You rely on yourself when you always remember that you are responsible for what you do, for what you feel, and how you act. And when you can trust yourself this way, you will have self-control.
Self-control will help you all your life. . When you have self-control, you can choose your actions wisely, without hurting yourself or others, and can make your way safely through other peoples’ jealousy, baiting, name-calling and other petty abuses.
So many people complain, “Don’t tell me what to do!” However, far too many of these same people take drugs. All drugs, even medications, tell your body and brain what to do, whether it wants to or not.
Medications are good to help bring the body back into balance, and can save your life sometimes. But if you do not have a sense of balance inside of you, then the drugs will have their way with you and make you think you like something you said you hated: being told what to do!
